Downtown York

Shop 'Till You Drop:

York is steeped with locally owned and unique shopping. A quick walk down Congress Street will showcase various specialty stores like Books-4-Ewe, Dogma & Fetch, or The Blush Blossom Boutique. A new shopping destination, Yorkville Marketplace is home to dozens of vendors, from plants and furniture to homemade crafts and goods. You can now eat at the marketplace at 1786 at Yorkville Marketplace! Opened in early 2025, 1786 will be serving wood-fired oven pizzas alongside cold craft beer and wine for you to enjoy after a busy day of shopping. York is also home to multiple vendor markets yearly, so follow the area shops on social media for dates and times.

Check Out Things to Do:

York’s small-town charm extends well past the downtown. Experience life on the farm with a visit to nearby Historic Brattonsville, an 800-acre living history farm with heritage breed animals, a Revolutionary War battlefield site, and a nature preserve with walking trails. Or head to one of our working commercial farms for some outdoor fun! Windy Hill Orchard & Cidery is best known for their crisp apples, fresh pressed cider, and their most popular item: hot apple cider doughnuts. Check out Black’s Peaches, where you can experience a produce market, meat grocery, restaurant, and farm all in one! Their hand-dipped ice cream, farm playground, and exciting seasonal events make Black's Peaches the perfect spot to take your family. Having grown fresh produce for York, SC, in 1979, Bush-N-Vine offers a beautiful hiking trail, a delicious place to eat, and a wide variety of fruits and vegetables to choose from. Each farm location also provides opportunities to pick your own produce, including apples, peaches, strawberries, and more! Make sure you save room for dessert at each of the locations!
