Why stay indoors when you can experience the beauty around you? York County is home to some wonderful campsites that offer you an amazing adventure and the opportunity to reconnect with nature. Bring a tent, RV, or simply a sleeping bag and enjoy South Carolina’s outdoors at its finest.

Try These Activities During Your Camping Trip:

Hiking

When you wake up feeling refreshed after a night sleeping under the stars, head out onto our number of trails to burn off some energy! Fort Mill's Anne Springs Close Greenway, Rock Hill's Riverwalk, and Blacksburg's Kings Mountain State Park / Kings Mountain National Park all have trails that even beginner hikers will enjoy. Whether you're looking for a paved path or a gravel one, we've got the perfect trails to reconnect with nature- all you have to do is pick one!

Kayaking

Kayaking is one of the most popular activities in York County due to our number of water ways and easy water access - from Rock Hill's Riverwalk kayak launch right on the Catawba to the Buster Boyd Access Area putting you on the glassy waters of Lake Wylie! Bring your paddles and sunscreen and hop in for a fun day on the water! Don't have your own gear? That's alright! Kings Mountain State Park and the Anne Springs Close Greenway both have rentals available!

Fishing

Reel in the catch of a lifetime during your stay to make your camping trip even more memorable! If you're staked out at Kings Mountain State Park, head to Lake Crawford or Lake York to fish from the bank or from the boat - the State Park has Jon Boats as well as non-motorized boats available to rent! The Catawba River and Lake Wylie also offer great spots to score your next catch and aren't far from other campsites in York County - so no matter where you're staying, you'll have a fishing experience that'll be off the hook!
