Marketing Intern
Reports To: VP of Communications & Strategic Development
Position Type: Internship, primarily in-office role
Hours: Minimum 25 hours per week; Flexible hours to complement college credit requirements
Compensation: Paid and for-credit
Length of internship: 10 – 15 weeks; 20 - 40 hours per week (negotiable)
Summary: Supports Visit York County’s digital marketing efforts and work to enhance the visitor experience through destination marketing and visitor services
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Creating content for the website, social media, and newsletters
• Assist with the events calendar and CRM
• Assist with the creation of video and photo assets
• Assist with the creation of press releases and media-related assets
• Assist with the creation and design of event-branded graphics
• Shoot/edit photo and video content
Requirements:
• Pursuing a degree in communications, marketing, or a related field
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, Canva, Photoshop, and other design software as needed
• Ability to shoot and edit photos and videos
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and proofreading
• Familiarity with local and regional area
• Travel, weekends, and occasional evening assignments

Sports Management Intern
Reports To: Visitor Services Manager
Position Type: Internship, primarily in-office role
Hours: Minimum 25 hours per week; Flexible hours to complement college credit requirements
Compensation: For credit, $1,500 stipend
Summary: Supports Visit York County’s efforts related to the recruitment, management, and logistics of sports events held in York County, SC
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Research leads to determine future sports events to bring to York County
- Creation of proposals to send to events rights holders
- Works with vendors needed for the events; apparel, DJ, announcer, chairs, food, security, etc.
- Generates reports for events, economic impact totals, and hotel room nights
- Designs images, schedules, and other content for the promotion of the events
- Helps coordinate social media outlets and the creative with each post
- Cultivates a core group of volunteers to help at sports and special events.

Requirements:
- An enrolled undergraduate or graduate-level student
