Marketing and Communications Associate 

Job Title: Communications & Marketing Associate

Position Type: Full-time, In-office

Reports To: VP, Marketing & Communications & VP, Content & Digital Strategy

Compensation:  $38,000- $45,000

Summary: Responsible for developing, maintaining, and/or implementing a communication strategy that fully showcases York County’s brand through increased audience/market attention and conversion. Works to grow the Visit York County digital presence including engaging and retaining followers through social media, website, and creative assets. Ensures the Visit York County brand and message are visually consistent and clearly communicated to the travel industry, partners, media, and the community.

Duties & Responsibilities            

  • Create and publish blogs for VisitYorkCounty.com
  • Work with the marketing team to manage VYC’s social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube
  • Maintain and update VYC’s events calendar
  • Maintain and update CRM listings for restaurants and attractions
  • Assist with weekly newsletters including the YoCo Buzz
  • Create graphics for social media, events, and print/ digital assets
  • Assists with the execution of VYC’s digital marketing campaigns, including web, SEO/SEM, email, social media, and display advertising
  • Assist with the creation of a monthly social content calendar
  • Execute social media campaigns and measure success
  • Shoot/edit photo and video content
  • Represent VYC at new openings and community events

Requirements:                

  • A minimum of two years of social media, copywriting, graphic design, or related experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or a related field
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, Canva, Photoshop, Adobe Suite, and other design software as needed
  • Ability to shoot and edit photos and videos
  • Excellent oral and written skills
  • Strong attention to detail and proofreading
  • Familiarity with local and regional area
  • Must have his/her own transportation and hold a valid driver’s license
  • Occasional travel, weekend, and evening assignments
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 35 lbs.
