Galentine’s Day is the perfect excuse to grab your best girls and spend a day celebrating friendship, fun, and of course, fantastic food! Whether you’re looking for a relaxing brunch, an adventurous activity, or a chic spot to sip cocktails, York County has plenty of options for the ultimate girls' day out.

Brunch & Mimosas to Kick Off the Day

We kicked off our Galentine’s Day celebration with brunch at The Flipside Restaurant in Old Town Rock Hill. This cozy neighborhood gem, run by a powerhouse husband-and-wife duo who own four restaurants across York County, is a local favorite—especially for its legendary shrimp and grits.

For my meal, I went with a tried-and-true classic: The Flipside Breakfast—two eggs cooked to your liking, a fluffy biscuit smothered in creamy gravy, smoked bacon, and a side of rich, aged cheddar grits. Naturally, we couldn’t resist ordering a round of mimosas and Bloody Marys, complete with a fresh lime garnish. My friends opted for breakfast sandwiches, both of which were absolutely delicious.

Shopping & Sweets: Exploring Yorkville Marketplace

Our next stop on our Galentine’s Day adventure took us to Yorkville Marketplace, a charming boutique mall nestled in the heart of York’s Historic District. This hidden gem is a treasure trove of unique finds, offering everything from stylish clothing and accessories to books, home décor, and even goodies for our furry friends!

One of our favorite stops was Palmetto Groove Records, where we browsed through an incredible collection of vinyl—perfect for adding a little extra soul to our day. We also couldn’t resist checking out the fun Valentine’s Day-themed treats scattered throughout the marketplace, making it an ideal spot to pick up a last-minute gift or a little something special for ourselves.

As our Galentine's celebration came to a close, we decided to cap off the night with a visit to The Social Cork. With an impressive drink menu featuring everything from wine and cocktails to martinis, we had a hard time picking just one—but after much deliberation, we found our perfect drink!

To complement our beverages, we ordered an artisan charcuterie board, filled with an array of cheeses from local vendors, as well as cured meats. And just when we thought it couldn’t get any better, we indulged in chocolate fondue—an array of sweet treats dipped into rich, chocolate sauce. It was the perfect way to end a day of friendship, fun, and unforgettable flavors.
