The York County Choral Society (founded in 1981) is an intergenerational choir of over 60 singers who especially enjoy performing large choral works with orchestral accompaniment, diverse contemporary classical music, and seasonal selections that reflect high quality choral repertoire. The organization features two performing choirs: the YCCS Main Choir and YCCS Chamber Singers who specialize in challenging a cappella selections. Singers should have some choir experience and an ability to read their vocal part. Auditions are required (see website for detailed information regarding criteria, dates, and location). Singers should be 16 years of age (with high school choral experience) through adulthood. Rehearsals are Thursday evenings (Oakland Baptist Church) with 2 - 3 concerts annually.
