Halloween is right around the corner and we've got every event leading up to the eeriest day of the year that will get you in the spooky season mood! Whether you're looking for fun for the little ones or a night out for the adults - you've got to check out these events:

 

Fort Mill Scarecrow Crawl

Fall ushers in many fun activities for our community, including one of Fort Mill's most popular events- the annual Scarecrow Crawl held in Downtown Fort Mill. Businesses, organizations, families, individuals and more create one-of-a-kind scarecrows that are voted on by our community to win prizes. You can view the many creative scarecrows while strolling Downtown and visiting our great shopping and restaurants!

Don't forget to stop by the Visit York County scarecrow, Virtual Vizzy, for FREE coloring sheets to take home! Voting by the public has begun on the Town of Fort Mill Facebook page - vote for Vizzy here!

 

Haunted Habersham House

Experience the thrill of Halloween at the haunted Habersham House! In a new location this year, you'll see over 40 jack-o-lanterns and be dazzled by the display of lights that change and dance along with music that you play right through your radio! The new location is at 270 Hampton Trail Drive, Fort Mill, SC 29708.

Halloween isn't complete without a pumpkin! Head out to the farm to pick the perfect pumpkin from one of our many farms' pumpkin patches! Enjoy corn mazes, hayrides, petting the animals, and more while you're there. Frightmare! On Dam Road

-Every Friday & Saturday through October 31 at Mr. Putty's Fun Park

Just when you thought 2020 couldn't get any scarier, Mr. Putty’s Fun Park has you covered with Frightmare! On Dam Road! York county’s ONLY Haunted House, Open Air Scare Zones, Haunted Miniature Golf, Zombie Axe Throwing, Food Trucks, and SO much more! $15 General admission includes haunted house admission. Other activities (Miniature Golf, Axe Throwing) Priced per activity & May require reservation.

 

Lanterns & Legends

-Every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday through October 31 hosted by the Fort Mill History Museum
-$16 for tickets
-Kid Friendly: Recommended for kids ages 12+

Tour Times - 6:45pm and 7:45pm. The tour will start in the Unity Cemetery (303 Tom Hall St). Guests can enjoy learning about the history of Fort Mill along with some local ghost stories. We encourage our guests to visit our local restaurants for a bite out.

This is an outdoor event and social distancing protocol will be followed - masks are preferred. Tours are approximately 1 hour and will be limited to 20 people, held rain or shine, and are non refundable.​

 

Paint & Sip: Black Cat Moon

-Thursday, October 29 from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at Olive's Mud Puddle
-$45 per session, includes all materials and two drinks

Paint a scene with a Halloween black cat and moon while you sip wine and relax! This paint and sip class is for adults only. Ticket sales end October 28.

 

Tricks & Treats

-Friday, October 30 from 5pm to 8pm at Northside Recreation Center

-Kid Friendly: Yes, ages 3-12

Join us at Northside Recreation Center for a fun evening of Tricks & Treats! Run through the Candy Chase Maze Run, collecting candy while completing obstacles. Once through the maze, go Trick-or-Treating throughout the center. This is a FREE event and is for children age 3-12. Masks are required per City Ordinance. Groups will be admitted every 15 minutes. Once you have completed the Candy Chase Maze Run and Trick-or-Treating, please exit the center to allow another group in.

 

Make Your Own: Clay Fall Pumpkin

-Friday, October 30 from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at Olive's Mud Puddle
-$50, includes all materials and the firing of your creation
-Kid Friendly: Yes

Make your Fall Pumpkin out of clay with family or friends! Make it and paint it - then pick up later after they are fired. This class is fun for everyone! You can make it scary or make a thanksgiving/fall decoration, but however you make your pumpkin, it will be a fun time!

 

Kid's Night Out

-Friday, October 30 from 5:30pm to 9:30pm at the Fort Mill YMCA
-$20 for members and $30 for non-members

Enjoy an evening out while the kids escape to an evening of imagination and fun!! A lite dinner and refreshments will be served.

Ages: 5yrs old- 13yrs old (participants will be grouped by age for activities)

Join in for fun fall activities including pumpkin painting, face painting, crafts, and a costume contest (if you got it Haunt it!) Party like a MonSTAR! Fun “Spooky” music, glow sticks, and much more!!

 

Parent's Night Out

Let's add a little excitement back into our child's world!vDrop the kids off at the studio for an exciting Parent's Night Out Costume Party at Nailed It®, where they will be part of an exciting DIY experience made just for them! And you get the night off to go do what you want.

Your child will create a personalized 9" x 7" project featuring a photo of themselves in their costume! We know those little monsters will be hungry, so we are serving up yummy pizza and punch for dinner, followed by a child friendly Halloween-themed movie playing right here in the studio! Of course, popcorn will be served.

 

Virtual Musicale: This Is Halloween

This virtual musicale is free for the public. We will go live on Oct 30th at 8pm on FB and YouTube. This is a 100% virtual choir where everyone did their own makeup and costumes while recording from the comfort of their homes. Our editors and team of directors then compile all the work done to make one cohesive choir. This is very similar to our last musicale “The Bells of Notre Dame” that we did back in July! Which can also be found on our FB and YouTube. We hope you join us!

 

Boo HaHa

-Saturday, October 31 from 12:30pm to 2:30pm at Fountain Park

WRHI, the Old Town Association, and the City of Rock Hill present the 37th annual BooHaHa! This year, things will look a bit different:
• This will be a Drive Thru event - enter Main Street at the intersection of Main/Oakland and travel ONE WAY towards Fountain Park
• Once at Fountain Park, masked volunteers will hand out a FREE pre-packaged bag of candy through the car windows for each kid in the car
• DO NOT EXIT THE CAR! Police will be at each intersection to direct traffic. Children are encouraged to dress in costume!
• Costume contest details will be posted here

 

Boos or Boats

Join us for a SPOOK-tacular family friendly event! We are hosting Boos or Boats! Bring the kiddos to our trunk or treat where they can hop from car to car or boat to boat. This will be a fun, safe event to celebrate Halloween! We will also have a haunted maze upstairs for the whole family to enjoy. Decorating cars and boats is encouraged! Limited car and boat spaces available.

Drive In Movie Night

Halloween Night!! Come join Poppin' Sweets of Fort Mill and Rita's of Fort Mill as we give a family friendly alternative for those of us deciding not to Trick or Treat this year. Costumes are welcome but not required! Hope to see you there! The movie being shown is E.T. - the parking lot opens at 7pm with the movie starting at 8pm.

 

Halloween Curbside Cookies

We know Halloween and trick or treat might not be normal this year, so we would like to offer a safe option to get your kiddos out of the house this Halloween! Enjoy Halloween safely by driving through our Trunk or Treat! York Parks & Recreation are joining up with First Baptist Church, First Presbyterian Church, Hillcrest Baptist Church, Trinity UMC, Tender Hearts Ministries, P.A.T.H., York YMCA, York Fire Department and the York Police Department to offer up one GREAT BIG TRUNK OR TREAT here in York! Drive-thru begins at 5:00pm and ends at 6:30pm. There will be safe distancing, all providers will be masked and wearing gloves. Please remain in your vehicles, no walk-up trick or treaters will be permitted at this event.

 

Family Fall Fest & Trunk O' Treat
