YORK COUNTY, S.C. May 16, 2024— The World Wake Association has selected York County’s SouthTown Wake Park as the site for the 2024 USWL Southeast Regional Wakepark Championship. The 2-day event will be held July 6-7, 2024 and bring more than 400 athletes to the area.
“While SouthTown has hosted a variety of different competitions at the local and regional levels, this will be the first time we host a WWA Regional event for riders to qualify for Nationals,” said Kyle Dickman, General Manager of SouthTown Wake Park. "It will be exciting to bring riders from across the region to experience our facility and connect with our local wakeboard community.”
The 2024 USWL Southeast Regional Wakepark Championship serves as a precursor for riders to qualify for the National Championship. The event is expected to produce an estimated economic impact of $300,000.
“It is exciting to see York County awarded this event against other sites of consideration in places like Atlanta, Myrtle Beach, and Valdasta,” said Andy Clinton, President and CEO of Visit York County. “We have a unique asset in SouthTown here, and we are optimistic that this will be a stepping stone to hosting more regional and national wakeboarding events in the future.”
Spectators Welcome
Spectators are welcome to experience the event with no entry fees. Food trucks will be on site and SouthTown’s Beginner Lake will be open to the public throughout the weekend. The Aqua Park and Training Cable will operate from 12 PM- 6 PM on Saturday and Sunday.

The US Wakepark League is a Nationwide league with local events, area qualifiers (State and Regional championships), and ending with the Grande Finale, the US Wakepark National Championships.
