ROCK HILL, S.C. — Winthrop Athletics has announced a strategic partnership with Visit York County in an effort to enhance its fan experience at home basketball games this season at the Winthrop Coliseum.
The Eagles Nest Beer Garden powered by the YoCo Brew Trail will feature a rotation of breweries throughout York County, providing fans with another amenity and adding one of the most unique spaces in college basketball to the game day experience.
"Visit York County is excited to partner with Winthrop Athletics to improve the local and visitor fan experience at sports events," said Andy Clinton, President and CEO of Visit York County. "The Eagle's Nest Beer Garden is a great opportunity to enhance the offerings at the Winthrop Coliseum while supporting our local craft brewery scene."

"Our goal is to have the best entertainment value in York County and beyond, and the Eagles Nest Beer Garden offers an opportunity to build community spirit, support our local breweries and improve our fan experience. The Eagles Nest Beer Garden, located above Section 105 on the concourse of Winthrop Coliseum, is now open for all Men's Basketball and select Women's Basketball home games. It will be open for the entire hour of pregame through the end of halftime.
The Eagles Nest will also feature "Big Stuff's Bites" a food hall lineup that allows fans to take advantage of new concession offerings from Winthrop Athletics partners including Freddy's Steakburgers, Two Scoops Rock Hill, Pelicans Snoballs and Spin Theory Cotton Candy. Several cocktail tables will be adjacent to the beer garden on the inner concourse, so fans can still watch the game while enjoying their beverages and mingling with other Eagle fans.
Celebrate the launch of the new space on Saturday December 7th as Winthrop hosts Coastal Carolina. The first 250 fans to purchase a beverage from Eagles Nest Beer Garden will receive a FREE Beer Garden shirt courtesy of Visit York County. Doors open at 6pm with tip-off at 7pm.
