ROCK HILL, S.C. November 14th, 2024The NCAA Division I Southeastern Regional Cross Country Championships are set to host 9 of the top ranked teams in both the Men’s & Women’s Championships at Winthrop University, Friday November 15th.

The Southeast Region of the NCAA Cross Country Championships includes teams from South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Kentucky, and Tennessee. This region contains the greatest number of teams in sheer volume at 53 universities and includes 5 ranked teams from the Men’s top 25 & 4 teams from the Women’s top 25.

Men’s Top 25 Teams:

  • Wake Forest (#5)
  • University of North Carolina (#11)
  • University of Virginia (#13)
  • Furman University (#22)
  • Eastern Kentucky University (#24)

Women’s Top 25 Teams:

  • University of North Carolina (#13)
  • University of Virginia (#15)
  • NC State University (#17)
  • Furman University (#22)

 

These teams along with the rest of the Southeast Region will compete for a chance to qualify for the NCAA Division I Cross Country National Championships, meaning the Southeast Regional Championships here at Winthrop University has a chance to send 4 to 5 teams towards a National Championship while also giving one of the best Regional Championships of the year in 2024.
