Davidson won the two-mile state title as a Bearcat. At Clemson he earned six letters in Cross Country and Track. He won the Charlotte Observer 10 K in 1977 and was second in 1978 running a 2:19:54 qualifying for the U.S. Olympic Trials. He won the 1978 Governor’s Cup 15 mile Race in a world class performance time of 1:13:54, averaging 4:54 per mile.
