about
The centerpiece of Winthrop's new $2.8 million track and soccer complex, the outdoor track is named for the late Charlotte N.C., businessman and philanthropist Irwin “Ike” Belk. Built by Farley Construction Company, the track is an NCAA Division I competition facility with a top-quality Mondo rubberized surface. It encircles a full-sized practice field for soccer, as well as areas for field events, such as discus and pole vault. The track is located on Winthrop Garnet Drive near the golf course.
