about
The Piedmont Medical Center Trail is a linear 3.35-mile paved, multi-use trail along the Catawba River offering a shaded walk among the trees with breathtaking river views. The trail spans Riverwalk at its northern end to River Park at its southern end. The Riverwalk portion of the trail provides access to several miles of mountain bike trails with varying levels of difficulty. A canoe/kayak launch is located near the trailhead in Riverwalk. An additional trail access point is the Catawba River Trailhead (100 Celriver Rd.) which has restrooms, a water fountain, and parking. It connects to the Piedmont Medical Center Trail between mile markers 2.25 and 2.50. Trail open dawn to dusk. With a brand new canopy-covered bridge, the enhancement is in addition to the City of Rock Hill’s existing 26 miles of walking trails throughout the Rock Hill community. The trail features flat areas as well as uphill and downhill stretches with steep grades. Along the trail are benches, garbage cans, pet stations, and bridges. Restrooms are located in the parking lot. The Piedmont Medical Center Trail is part of the City of Rock Hill’s Trails and Greenways System as well as the Carolina Thread Trail, a regional network of trails and greenways spanning 15 counties and connecting over two million people. The trail will eventually connect to other parts of the Riverwalk development.
