“Piedmont Pottery & Pickin’” at Hightower Hall is for lovers of live music and local handmade pottery
McCONNELLS, S.C. – Live music and pottery come together for a day of festivity on the sweeping grounds of Historic Brattonsville’s Hightower Hall. Piedmont Pottery & Pickin’ features traditional and contemporary potters from all over the Carolina Piedmont. Peruse a variety of original works of art for sale while local pickers share their tunes.
Live music includes:
Whippoorwill String Band from 10 a.m. to noon
Tri-County Bluegrass Band from noon to 2 p.m.
South Branch Bluegrass Band from 2 to 4 p.m.
At Brattonsville’s main site, living history interpreters will demonstrate how people in the Carolina Piedmont used pottery for cooking and food preservation during the 18th and 19th centuries.
Hightower Hall is the grand Italianate-style villa at the northern entrance to Historic Brattonsville. It’s currently undergoing restoration and will be closed for tours at this time.
