"As a child growing up in the concrete jungle of the Bronx, my fascination with the natural world was fueled by the pages of National Geographic. I would lose myself in the awe-inspiring imagery of distant landscapes, imagining what it would be like to explore untouched forests, flowing rivers, and towering mountains. In contrast to my urban surroundings, I longed for moments spent in parks or on trips to the countryside—anywhere I could be close to trees, hear the rustling of leaves, and glimpse wildlife beyond the usual city rats."
