Hurricane Florence’s arrival is almost here in York County, bringing heavy rains and dangerous winds with it.

While York County is not in an evacuation zone for Hurricane Florence, heavy rains throughout the weekend are expected.

There are many events that have been canceled across York County and many area attractions are closed. Here is a full list that is continually being updated:

The York County Visitors Center will close at noon on Friday September 14th and be closed on September 15th and 16th.

The Palmetto Center Color Run has postponed their Color Run and Race for Saturday, September 15th. It will instead be held on October 6th at Walter Elisha Park in Fort Mill. If you have registered you can pick up your color packs for the race from the Palmetto Center on Oct 2nd, 4th, and 5th.

Effective Prayer with Anne Graham Lotz at the Winthrop Coliseum has also been postponed due to Florence. They have not reset a date.

Art on Tap presented by the Arts Council of York County has been postponed for Friday night due to Hurricane Florence as well. It will be held on September 28th and 3pm instead.

The Food Truck Rally at Tega Cay for this Friday night has  been postponed. The city is working to reschedule this for the spring.

The Clover Auto Show for Saturday has been cancelled, but will be held on October 13th.

The Winthrop Cross Country Invitational has been cancelled and will instead be held on October 5th.

The Old Town Farmer’s Market at Legal Remedy has been canceled for Saturday September 15th, but will pick back up the following weekend.

York County has shut down access to the river at River Park, River Walk Tega Cay dam access, and Broad River Access.

Rock Hill has closed all parks and rec facilities expect the Boyd Hill Center, which will act as a shelter through the storm.

The Main Street Children’s Museum will close Saturday September 15th and Sunday September 16th.

All of our Culture & Heritage Museums sites, will be closed on Saturday & Sunday, September 15th & 16th.

Carowinds has closed for September 14th and will continue to update daily on whether the conditions are okay for them to open. Already purchased tickets will be valid for use until October 14th.

The Anne Springs Close Greenway will be closing to the public this weekend. The FLYERS program, Kids Night Out, and scheduled hikes and programs have also been canceled or rescheduled. There will continue to be previously scheduled private events at the Greenway, but it will be closed to the general public.

The Fall Carnival at the Rock Hill Galleria Mall is canceled for the weekend.
