Planned in the early 1990s, Fort Mill’s Kingsley came about when the Close-Springs family saw an opportunity to direct the growing Charlotte Metropolitan area towards Fort Mill. They developed the Clear Springs Development in 1997 intending to achieve their plan through opening Anne Springs Close Greenway, Baxter Village, and later Kingsley. Kingsley was born out of the textile industry of the Springs Industry and continues development to this day.
