YORK COUNTY, SC, March 22, 2024—US Quadball will host its 2025 National Qualifier at Catawba Park located at 2351 New Gray Rock Road in Tega Cay. The event, previously known as the US Quidditch Cup, will bring more than forty club teams from universities around the country to York County on February 15-16, 2025.

"In what was a competitive bid process, York County came out on top as an area that offers great amenities, community, and partnership for this event,” said Megan Anderson, Senior Director of Membership and Operations for US Quadball. “It's a fun weekend of matches and camaraderie and we look forward to bringing Quadball to town for the local community to enjoy.”

Participating teams will compete for the chance to qualify for the 2025 US Quadball Cup to wrap up the 2025 season. US Quadball National Qualifier events have previously been held in Oklahoma City, Champaign County, and Boston, among other locations.

"We are thrilled to announce Tega Cay Parks and Recreation and Visit York County’s successful bid to host US Quadball at Catawba Park,” said Dustin Overton, Parks & Recreation Director for the City of Tega Cay. “This inaugural event reflects our commitment to bringing diverse sporting experiences to our community. We are excited to showcase our amazing facility and community with US Quadball and look forward to future events at Catawba Park through our partnership with Visit York County.”

This event is the first of its kind in the York County area since the US Quidditch Cup that was hosted at Manchester Meadows by Rock Hill Parks, Recreation & Tourism in Rock Hill, South Carolina in 2015. The US Quadball Cup is also the first event secured through a bid process in partnership with the Tega Cay Parks & Recreation department at Catawba Park since the park’s opening in October 2022.

“York County has established itself as a hub for niche sports over the years, and it is exciting to see this identity grow and attract more events with the addition of Tega Cay’s new state-of-the-art facility.” said Andy Clinton, President, and CEO of Visit York County.

Local businesses are encouraged to get involved with the 2025 US Quadball National Qualifier. Interested sponsors and vendors should contact Jordan McCraw, Event Services Manager for Visit York County at jmccraw@visityorkcounty.com.
