“There is a demand for breweries in this area and these owners are taking advantage of the desire from locals to have those types of options in York County. The craft beer industry continues to grow across the country and York County is following that trend. We expect more breweries to open in York County within the next 2 years,” said Visit York County President Billy Dunlap.
Two of the breweries on the YoCo Brew Trail also received accolades this week from the South Carolina Brewer’s Guild.
Rock Hill Brewing Company received 3 silver medals in the IPA, Field Beer, and Coffee Stout categories. They also received a bronze medal in the American Brown Ale category and an honorable mention for their Bourbon Barrel Irish Red Ale.
Legal Remedy Brewing Company received a gold medal for Probation Pilsner and a silver medal for Double Indemnity Double IPA.
“The SC Brewers Guild Trade Show was a great opportunity to showcase SC Beer and bring together brewers throughout South Carolina. The craft beer community is a great family of mutual support, collaboration, and promotion and we’re fortunate to be a part of the SC Brewers Guild that fosters that community,” said Legal Remedy Brewing.
“Supporting local business is vital to the success of a community. Entrepreneurs are meeting needs throughout York County and it is important that we support those local businesses so that we can sustain and grow our options in this community,” said Dunlap.
