New Carowinds rollercoaster and hotel to launch in 2019

A brand new rollercoaster, hotel, and restaurant concept will launch at Carowinds in 2019. The 4oo-acre theme park is creating a new experience for the theme park called the Blue Ridge Junction. The area will feature the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountain Range in the Carolinas.

The rollercoaster, Copperhead Strike, will be the center of the Junction. The Carolina’s first double launch coaster, will take you from 0 to 42 mph in just 2.5 seconds. Giving thrill seekers the new bite they’ve been looking for. The ride is on over a half mile of steel, taking you upside down and through loops and turns.

Season pass holders will get to experience the Copperhead Strike first in Spring of 2019.

The Blue Ridge Junction will also be home to a new restaurant concept for Carowinds, the Blue Ridge Country Kitchen. Guests can enjoy the comforts of country cooking in between rides. The restaurant will feature air-conditioned seating and farm-fresh goodness that you would find in the Carolina mountains.

In late 2019, the Springhill Suites by Marriott will also open. The new five-floor, 130 suite hotel will have a pool, fitness center, and bonfire pit while being just steps away from the greatest attraction in the Carolinas.

So what are you waiting on? Plan your 2019 trip to Carowinds and Visit York County to create your story.

“I’ve already spoken to my pastor about taking our church group back to Rock Hill this spring for NarroWay’s Easter program... We’ll also go to the Billy Graham Library while we’re there, and we’ll eat in Old Town in Rock Hill. My group will love it.”
