Did you miss this year’s US Disc Golf Championship? We’ve got the highlights

Competitors from around the country gathered at the legendary “Gold Course” at Winthrop University for the 2015 US Disc Golf Championship. This year marked the 17th consecutive year that York County has hosted the most prestigious event in disc golf. The Gold Course is located at the Winthrop University Recreational Complex in Rock Hill, SC.

The US Disc Golf Championship attracts disc golf enthusiasts of all ages to the course. Since its first use in the championship in 1999, the Gold Course has undergone several course renovations to prepare for the national sporting event each year. Tons of mulch, recurving and leveling of the beach green, and the addition of official USDGC materials help to prepare the fairways for the championship competition.

Many tourney goers came out to watch top players including,  3-time and defending US Champion Will Schusterick, from Nashville, TN; 4-time World Champion Paul McBeth, from Huntington Beach, CA; 12-time World Champion and 5-time US Champion Ken Climo from Clearwarter, FL; and 2-time World Champion and 3-time US Champion Barry Schultz from Louisburg, NC. Paul McBeth won the 2015 US Disc Golf Championship, making it his first US title.
