“Grits Stop” celebrates tourism in America

Local Tourism Leaders Celebrate National Travel and Tourism Week by Welcoming Visitors to South Carolina with a Favorite Southern Dish – GRITS!

On Friday, May 9, 2014 local tourism leaders hosted the annual “Grits Stop” in celebration of the 30th Annual National Travel & Tourism Week. “Grits Stop” was held at the South Carolina Welcome Center on Interstate 77 in Fort Mill, SC from 9:00 a.m. – 12 noon. America celebrated National Travel & Tourism Week on May 3 – 11, 2014. Volunteers from the local tourism industry gathered at the Fort Mill Welcome Center to greet visitors and offered them a complimentary bowl of grits and other southern delights in honor of National Travel and Tourism Week. The week is designated in America for the travel and tourism industry to simply say “Thank you!” to visitors.  Characters from local attractions also gathered at the welcome center to help volunteers welcome visitors and show appreciation to those traveling to South Carolina.
