The Catawba Cultural Preservation
Project on the Catawba Indian Reservation strives to preserve,
protect, promote, and maintain the rich cultural heritage
of the Catawba Indian Nation. Native American books, literature,
jewelry, and crafts, including the distinctive Catawba pottery
are available in the craft store. Changing exhibits are
presented for viewing. The Center produces tours with a
variety of programs that may include Catawba history and
storytelling sessions, language presentations, pottery demonstrations,
drumming and dancing performances, and educational, hands-on
archaeology programs. These are available by appointment.
An annual festival, Yap Ye Iswa (Day of the Catawba) is
held each November. Open Monday-Saturday 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Historic
Brattonsville® is a 775-acre living history village
that includes a Revolutionary War battlefield site. Features
living history programs and 29 historic structures chronicling
Carolina Piedmont development from the 1750s through the
1840s. A film location for the Revolutionary War epic “The
Patriot.” Includes Walt Schrader Trails, eight miles
of paths for hiking, bicycling and horseback riding. Award-winning
Heritage Farm Program preserving rare breeds of farm animals
and heirloom crops. Gift shop featuring 18th and 19th century

Housed in the McCelvey Center, this historical center archive
provides opportunities for extensive genealogical and historical
research related to the region. Research databases include
18th and 19th century occupations; Confederate veterans;
Revolutionary War Battle Inventory; Blacks in the American
Revolution; Bobby Moss Southern Revolutionary War Collection
index; and Bratton family records and documents. Mon. –

Fort Mill is home to the Charlotte Knights Baseball Club,
Triple-A Affiliate of the Chicago White Sox. The Knights
play at Knights Stadium, located just off I-77. Knights
Stadium’s capacity is 10,000 fans and features a covered
picnic shelter, the Home Run Café and a supervised
kids play area complete with carousel and other games. Tickets

Award-winning Glencairn Garden displays nature’s
finest colors, textures and shapes. This seven-acre garden
includes a reflecting pool and fountain and is a quiet place
for strolling, nature watching and quiet contemplation.
Peak bloom period: last week of March - mid-April. Open
free to the public daily.
Glencairn Garden is also a central focus of Rock Hill's
annual spring festival called "Come-See-Me." This
festival began in 1962 as a community project to invite
visitors, relatives and friends to see Rock Hill during
its most beautiful season. "Come-See-Me", South
Carolina's largest all-volunteer festival, has been ranked
in the South's Top 20 Spring Festivals for several years
and was featured in Southern Living Magazine.

This pedestrian park, located in downtown Rock Hill, is
home to many historic trees. Most of the trees in this park
were cultivated from trees that were witness to an historic

The battlefield at Kings Mountain National Military Park
stands as the place many analysts believe was the turning
point of the American Revolution. It includes a visitor
information center, film and museum of period artifacts.
Adjacent to Kings Mountain State Park and its Living History
Farm. Access to the Overmountain Victory National Historic
Trail which is part of the National Trails System and follows
the Revolutionary War route of Patriot militia men from
Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, and
Georgia to the battle of Kings Mountain. While there are
hiking segments, the primary public access is by car over
the commemorative motor route.

History Farm recreates an Upcountry farmstead of the 1850s.

Windy Hill Orchard and Cider Mill is the only working orchard
